CBS Corporation Sells Paramount Canada's Wonderland to Cedar Fair

Company Description:  Paramount Canada’s Wonderland (“Wonderland”) is Canada’s premier theme park with over 200 attractions, more than 60 rides and a 20 acre water park.  
 

Role:  Solaris Capital Advisors Inc. provided ancillary financial advisory services to CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) in connection with its sale of Paramount Canada’s Wonderland.

The sale of Wonderland was part of a larger transaction which involved Paramount Parks, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CBS Corporation.  The acquirer, Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: FUN), is a publicly traded partnership, which owns and operates seven amusement parks and five water parks in addition to the five Paramount Parks acquired in the transaction.

  
 
Outcome:  This transaction will further enable CBS to concentrate on its media business, while Cedar Fair will add significant geographic diversity to its portfolio of parks and improve its position as one of the largest regional amusement park operators in the world.
